One week changes a lot…
So last week I wrote about my disappointment with iThemes. I was hoping that maybe someone would at least explain what the reasoning was behind the way things seem to be set up, but that didn’t happen. I spent my money, so now I’m stuck with it, and still don’t have the functionality that I spent the money for.
Oh well, at least I still have access to the training library of all of their past webinars and training sessions. I have heard some very good things about them, so hopefully I can get some value back from that.
EXCEPT, it doesn’t seem possible to actually access the Libray. I start out at ithemes.com, log in, and end up at the Members Panel. The training videos are listed under “WebDesign.com” even though I know that over a month ago iThemes changed the name of their traing section to iThemes Training.
So, click it anyway, and I’m taken to https://ithemes.com/webdesign-has-moved/, which tells me to “log in to iThemes Training to access the member library, view the schedule and register for upcoming webinars. Bookmark training.ithemes.com now for future use.
Use the same user ID and password you’ve always used to log in to your account.”
OK, so I do that and I get a WordPress login. Following the instructions I use my log in credentials and am taken to my WordPress profile page – https://training.ithemes.com/wp-admin/profile.php. If I click to go to iThemes Training, I’m taken to https://training.ithemes.com/. Except it makes me log in to access the library, which takes me to a WordPress login. And that is how in one week iThemes has gone from one of my favorite companies to one that I’d now actively tell anyone to avoid.
I’m still hopeful that things will turn around. Maybe iThemes will explain their reasons and open up the secret door to the Training section. And if they do, I will definitely post about it. But for now, a lot has changed in one week….
